Paul Bradley first came into the GSD breed in 1972 with a 12 week old puppy dog called Vornhill Vigilante.

Making him a champion in 1975.  Vigilante was a German type of Shepherd for this time and won all his Puppy, Junior, Special Yearling classes at Championship Show level, under German and top UK judges.

I attended my first German Sieger Show in 1975 and has never missed one of these important breed events since.

I have travelled many times to Germany with Percy Elliott, to whom I owe so much, as Percy’s knowledge of the German Shepherd was unequalled.

I have imported many dogs from Germany, that have made a massive impact on the breed in the UK

  • Jimmy von Heimrichshorst – Sch III, Kka – Res CC winner – BAGSD

  • Cito von Konigsbruch – SG 17 German Sieger Show – Dr Beck – Bremen. Cito became a UK champion and sire of 22 champions (11 males, 11 females).

  • Fanto von Diemelbergerland – SG11 at the same German Sieger Show as Cito. Fanto also became a UK champion with 11 CC’s. He is the sire of the great. Eros v Hambachtal (VA)

  • Janus von Insel Wehr – Sch I. Janus also became a UK champion and the sire of champions.

Paul also bred Vornlante Magnum, sired by Cito out of a Jimmy daughter and he also made UK champion at

18 months old.  Magnum was also the grandfather of Ch. Rosehurst Chris.

Paul imported, for his friend Mr Brian Mycock, Exel von Batu V13 at the German Sieger show, who also made a UK champion.

Probably Paul’s most memorable achievement was with Vornlante Catja, a quarantine born female, Catja is still the present breed record holder for CC wins for females (32 CC and 29 Best of Breeds).

In 2003 I purchased a half share in a very special dog from Holland – Elan v d Herderskring, Sch 3 Kk 1.  He arriving in the UK he quickly made a UK Champion in 3 straight shows and also became the 2 Day National winner in Belfast under Frank Goldlust.    In July of that year I returned to Holland and Elan become the Dutch Sieger.   The following year he made an impact in Germany gaining top places at the major Landsgruppen shows and at the 2004 German Sieger Show made the placing of V9 under Eric Orschler.  This was the highest placing achieved at the German Sieger by a UK exhibitor.

Elan went on to become twice British Sieger, once reserve Brit. Sieger, VA2 Belgium Sieger show, VA3 Swiss Sieger show and twice winner of the Two Day National.

Paul is one of the Top UK judges for German Shepherds and has judged in other Countries – Sweden, Norway, Barbados, Trinidad.

Pauls shows particular interest in the progeny of his stud dogs and will go out of his way to see their

puppies, and help with their training, handling and promotion.
